Boat Ramp

The new boat ramp was constructed in 2004 at the confluence of the Kansas and Missouri Rivers. It is available for recreational boaters and fishermen.

The boat ramp is open from 7am to 10pm daily and has been a popular site for launching kayaks, canoes, and motorized boats. No permit is required for non-motorized boats. A Kansas state permit is required for fishing and motorized boats on the Kansas River. A Missouri permit is required for the Missouri River.

Every summer in mid-July, the Kaw Point Park hosts the “Missouri 340 Race” where paddle-craft race 340 miles from Kansas City to St. Charles, Missouri. The Missouri 340 is a fund raiser for Missouri River Relief. For more information visit https://mr340.org/ or email Christina Ruiz.

In 2020 Friends of Kaw Point Park became the sponsor of Friends of the Kaw‘s Adopt a Boat Ramp Program for Kaw Point Park. Friends of Kaw Point Park hosts a clean up event on Saturdays, once a month from March through November. See events page for dates.
